Department of Environmental Protection Permits

Permits are required by the Department of Environmental Protection for a variety of projects. Regulations vary by state, but typically include, at a minimum, projects that will require discharge into bodies of water; projects that could impact wetlands; projects that could impact air quality; projects involving solid and/or hazardous waste; projects that could result in soil contamination; and projects involving water extraction and well drilling.

National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits also fall under the umbrella of the Department of Environmental Protection.

Permit requirements can be reviewed on the websites for each state's Department of Environmental Protection. In Pennsylvania, permit requirements can be quickly and easily ascertained by utilizing their online Permit Application Consultation Tool (PACT).

Feel free to CONTACT US to discuss your project, your engineering needs, and the permits and/or variances that may be required to make your plans a reality.
